How Much does it Cost?
$30/month with a 1 year commitment (can be paid monthly or once a year)
What does it do for me?
- > Cleans up your running PC and makes it faster
- > Installs real Business Class Next-Gen Security Software, including Antivirus
- > Keeps updates installed on your system
- > Notifies you of problems that our monitoring systems detect.
- > Business Hours Remote Technical Support when you need help
What are the limitations?
- > Computers need to be less than 5 years old to be supportable (we might fudge a little at our own discretion, but older computers are more expensive to run and fix and get slow even if properly updated)
- > Computers need to be operational before we start service.
- > You will need an external hard drive four times the size of your computer’s hard drive that you can pick up at WalMart, Best Buy or anywhere else. We can supply it, but it will be more expensive. This is to set up local backups for your computer. We will monitor these backups if you agree to leave your computer on. We can also supply cloud-based File backups: again – the computer has to be on to run the backups.
- > On-Site repair is included up to 2 hours per year and available at a 10% discount afterward.
- > Cloud Backups are available as an add-on, but systems must be online to be backed up.
- > Don’t be mean. Seriously. We will never be mean to you, and if you are mean to us, we will drop you. Life is too short to be okay with being mean.
- > Our Business Hours are 9am – 5pm weekdays excluding national holidays.
How do I start?
- > Send us an email at support @ shieldedge.com , or call 812 . 633 . 4444 and leave a voicemail with:
- > > Your name
- > > Address (physical and email if you are calling it in)
- > > Phone number
- > We will email you a contract to look over.
- > We will call you to schedule a time to come to your location to:
- > > Sign the contract
- > > Get the first Check/money order/cash (monthly or annually) and provide a receipt
- > > Set up the service
- > > And do our best to clean up your system while we are there.
- > We will create an account in our ticketing system for you
- > > This is the main way we will communicate and track work on your system
General Terms of contract. Look over the contract we send you to see more detail as that is what you will sign, this is not the contract and just gives you the general idea of what your getting into before you call us:
- > Renews annually, but you can cancel anytime after the first year with one month’s notice.
- > If you pay annually, Any remaining balance on your contract is converted to a credit on your account for the remainder for the 1 year contract and then absorbed at the end of the contract if not used. If you have met the one year commitment, and you pay monthly, 30 days notice is all it takes.
- > We don’t promise to be able to fix everything… that’s not even humanly possible… but we will give it our best effort and with over 30 years of professional experience, we are likely to be able to fix most things that are fixable.
- > We don’t promise that we can be as fast for our Residential clients as our Business clients, but we bring the best of our breadth of experience to everyone and having both makes us better for you.
- > There is nothing that we can do about acts of God, a woodchuck that cuts down a tree that lands on your computer, or a million other things that we cannot control. We are not going to pretend like we can.
- > We are honest. That means we may give you bad news from time to time. We don’t like it any more than you do. If we are monitoring your backups… it’s a lot less painful when stuff happens.
- > Please pay us on time. We rely on you and others like you to keep our lights on so that we can be there for you. We never like to stop service due to non-payment. We like helping people and we can’t afford to keep our end of the contract if we don’t get paid on time.
- > There are other things our lawyers make us put in there… it’s pretty standard stuff and we have argued with the lawyers to keep it so that it isn’t a one-sided contract… we hate those.
