I started Shield Edge Technologies, LLC in 2010, but the origins started back in 1989 as a joint company installing networks that barely resemble today’s ethernet networks.
After a brief tour of college where I became department head for the PC Repair Department, another company was founded – The Power Supply which built and sold computer systems to local businesses. When I was offered an internal position at a medium-sized manufacturing facility doing internal IT work, The power Supply shut down.
After working in corporate America, including a stent as IT Director for a multi-state accounting firm, A refocusing on small businesses came in the form of a job helping out another engineer to service small business IT systems.
To be honest, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would and really felt like I was making a difference. I haven’t left that world since.
